No.2 Marfa

Marfa, Texas. Built in the 60’s, the Aguilar family opened a series of service stations.  One for each son.  The name’s of the service stations were all the same except they were numbered.  This property was “Pik Pak No. 2”  After many years remaining in the Aguilar family it was eventually sold and took on a number of different lives during it’s time including a church and a restaurant (you can still see the drive-thru window).  The property became vacant once again and switch owners a few more times until it was found by Ashlee Albrecht, the owner and designer.  Ashlee and her husband Keith purchased the property in 2021.  Ashlee brought her love of design and all things vintage and “lived in” and her experience in hospitality and bought the Pik Pak to bring back to life in the form of a vacation rental.  Initially a store front, half bath and garage, the front side of the Pik Pak was converted to 3 separate units.  First unit, a studio apartment, second a 2 bedroom/1 bath and the third a 1 bedroom/ 1 bath.  The back side of the Pik Pak was a 3 bedroom house that the Aguilar’s raised their family.  While changing some of the layout, this portion of the Pik Pak stayed with the original layout of the family home.
